Dinosaurland!

Ah! Brody is almost already 3 months old. Time always goes by way too quickly. Feb 19th I took him to his first pediatrician appointment here in Vernal, called Dinosaurland. I don't know why, but I am very fascinated with that name. I guess I just love Dinos. :D I also loved that it was seriously 4 blocks from my house. I love that everything here is less than 5 minutes away. The appointment went well. The Dr. was very nice. Brody now weighs 13 pounds, 5 ounces and is 24 inches long. He is one growin' boy! The pediatrician said he is higher in the percentile for babies his age, but it's okay because he is proportionate. That was great to hear! The Dr. asked how Brody was sleeping at night. I told him that he is sleeping through the night for about 8 to 9 hours. He gave me an astonished look, and said that was great! You're tellin me! haha. Mommy and baby like their sleep! He said that he is now allowed to have water and apple juice. Also advised that he should be eating double his weight, so about 27 ounces...but he eats more than that..lol. We tried the apple juice. He loved it. I don't want to give it to him too much because of the sugars and stuff in it, so only like once or twice a month we will give him some. Water I give to him about once or twice a week when he is being fussy. He likes to drink the water too. I have a feeling he is going to like everything we give him. haha! He also received five shots at this appointment. He handled them like a champ! The Dr. was telling me that he might get a fever and to give him some medicine, but as soon as he took his nap, he was a happy camper afterwards. No fever ever arrived. He's one strong little boy! His next appointment is in April. I'm sure then they will tell us that he can start to have cereal. I think he will really like that!

For Beau's week off we went up to Salt Lake City for a few days. We wanted to have lunch with the Herrera family, let them all see Brody. Then we also wanted Grandma Rich to finally see him as well. It was good. He is always the best on car rides. He will sleep the whole time. Until he gets hungry of course. So we ended up staying at Grandma Rich's house. Brody loved her and her rocking chair. Took many naps on her, as well as told her many stories. Also had lunch with all of Beau's aunts and uncles. That was fun to hang out with everyone! Everyone got a little time with Brody. He was so tired that day because he wanted to stay awake for the party, but then he finally passed out on his Great Aunt Rosie, and slept until we got home that night.

It was a nice week for both Brody and I having Beau home. We were all pretty much bums. Stayed in our PJ's all day and watched movies. I swear Brody is getting ready for football. All he does is kick his legs like crazy. We really will have a handful when he starts to walk! OH! Beau was playing with him a few days ago, and he actually stood by himself for a good 2 seconds. Flat footed and everything. I think he will be a fast learner!

Everything is Vernal for Beau and I as well has been going amazing! We were talking about it tonight and its funny because everyone we talked too were like, "yah I don't want to move up here, and neither does my family because there is nothing to do here." We just kind of laugh about it, because we come from Vegas where there is always something going on and happening, yet we'd much rather be here. Guess we just turned into home bodies. Well Beau at least, i've always been one. lol. Beau is loving every second of his job. I am loving every second of my "job". Everyone asks, "aren't you tired of sitting home all day and doing nothing?". Not at all. I have plenty to do to keep me busy, and being with Brody all day, makes my day perfect. I really wouldn't want anything any other way. I love being the house wife/mommy. I miss my family so much back in Vegas, and I know Beau misses them a little too, but we needed to get out and start something on our own. It's only been two months, so can't brag about it too much, but these two months have been the greatest for us both. I'm glad we took this risk. We needed it.

We will be back in Vegas on Beau's next week off, March 17th. We have to get my stupid car registered. Def excited to go back and visit everyone, eat the yummy food, and shop!

The past two months.

I decided to jump on the band wagon and get a Blogger as well. During my pregnancy I had a Tumblr that I used to keep track of development, but as I read each post it seemed like all I did was complain about every little thing. Yay for being pregnant and hormonal! So I thought I'd start new and set up a Blog for everyone who is interested in our little family. (More so for everyone to keep up with how Brody is doing, since we kind of picked up and left everything and everyone back in Vegas && have family scattered around Utah.) Soon we will have more family out here, but until then it's just Daddy, Mommy, Baby Brody, and Grandpa Rich here in Vernal.

I wanted to do a small recap of Brody's last two months even though they were in Vegas just to see how he has grown! :)

As for Beau and I, it's been an adventure as well.

Beau:

• Quit his electrical job.
• Got a job with Halliburton.
• Left for Vernal, Utah January 1st.
• Has been workin non-stop ever since. 

Myself:

• Stayed in Vegas packing until beginning of February.
• Visited Beau for a week to get our Town House all situated
• Baby stayed with "Broma" Grandma Rich and his aunts.

• Beau and I drove back to Vegas to pack our things in the U-Haul
• Visited for the last time, then was time to drive to our new home.
• Been in Vernal exactly a week today, and have loved every minute of it!
• Though I do miss a lot of people in Vegas.
• && quit job at Zappos to be a stay at home mommy <3

Since Brody has been in Utah, he has loved it as well. He is such a happy baby. Only whines when he is hungry, wet, or wants to be rocked in his chair. Haven't heard him actually cry for the longest time. He used to cry like crazy when he was hungry, or got his diaper changed, but he has gotten over that. He is almost pretty much eating 8 oz. bottles. He's a little chunk! The best thing so far, he is sleeping through the night. The first night he did, I woke up in such a panic thinking something was wrong, but I was wrong. He was sound asleep in his crib. I thought it would only last a night, but we are on night 5 tonight, and he has slept all night, all the others. Last night he actually slept almost 10 hours too! I think he has his mommy's sleeping habits :D He still sleeps a lot during the day too. Usually awake for 2 hours or so, then naps for 2. He's on a pretty good schedule. Makes for lots of mommy time. Even though its spent organizing, cleaning, and working out. I gained over 40 pounds during pregnancy. After Brody, still was up by 13 pounds. So now I'm trying to shred that baby weight. So far so good! 2.2 pounds lost and 1% body fat as well in just a week! Proud of myself because I've never been the working out type. Beau's lost weight as well from his job. Proud of us all!

These past two months have made me happier than I have ever been in life. I feel like we actually are growing up, and making something of ourselves. Can't wait to see what else is in store for us!
